SHORT CUTS features six short films created by Cal Poly students under the mentorship of the College of Liberal Arts’ Randi Barros, who is also a screenwriter and editor. These films — produced by teams of students from different majors — depict stories reflecting the promising filmmakers’ shared sentiments and creative visions. Engage with emotionally charged stories exploring coming of age, sexuality, racism and unexpected truths (85 minutes). The films will screen at the Fremont Theater, 1035 Monterey St., at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. Tickets are free for students of any school. These films are being shown as part of the SLO Film Festival and are sponsored by Cal Poly Interdisciplinary Studies in Liberal Arts and Cal Poly Center for Expressive Technologies.
