In partnership with San Luis Obispo Public Works and SLO Police Department, Cal Poly Public Safety is handing out bike lights along the railroad safety trail near California Blvd. and Campus Way on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event aims to bring awareness to bike safety and the important role bike lights play in helping cyclists see the road while also helping them be seen by cars. This is part of the city’s Vision Zero initiative to stop traffic fatalities and injuries as well as promote active transportation.
